NTPC Scholarship Scheme For SC/ST/PC Students Pursuing MBBS From Govt.Medical Colleges :

“NTPC Limited, Maharatna and India’s number 1 power generation company, invites applications for grant of 30 Scholarships under ‘NTPC Scholarship Scheme’ for meritorious Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe/ Physically Challenged students, who are pursuing MBBS from any Govt. Medical Colleges India, and have successfully passed their first year/1st Prof.Exam examinations in first attempt in academic year 2014-15 and are in 2nd year/2nd Prof., in academic year 2015-16.

Salient Features :

Amount & Duration :
Rs. 4000/- P.M. for (full course excluding Internship period)

Eligibility :
SC/ST/PC students in their 2nd year of study in the academic year 20015-16 and have obtained not less that 60% marks in 1st year exam in academic year 2014-15. Students availing of scholarship / financial assistance/stipend from any other institute need not apply.

How to Apply :

The application form with full details of the scheme, can also be downloaded from NTPC website www.ntpc.co.in./notices. The application duly filled along with Caste/Disability Certificate, as the case may be, should be submitted, along with attested copies of mark sheets of the 1st year (annual / semester examinations) to the Head of the Institution. The Institution shall scrutinize and verify the certificates and shortlist 5 best candidates in each category SC, ST and PC and send these applications to NTPC at the following address latest by 14.08.2015.

Objective Of The Scheme:

As a manifestation of Corporate Social Responsibility, NTPC has decided to institutionalize a Merit Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/physically Challenged students pursuing MBBS.

Coverage:
All students belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Physically Challenged categories pursuing full time MBBS from Govt. Medical Colleges, shall be eligible to apply for the NTPC Scholarship.

Scholarship: Commencement, Number, Amount, Duration
1. The Scholarship Scheme shall commence from academic session 2014-15.
2. The number of scholarships will be decided by the management from time to time. At present the total number of scholarships is 30 in the ratio of 15-SC-10-ST- 5-PC( 2-OH/2-VH/1-HH). However, disability may be exchanged/substituted in case students from any particular disability is not available.
3. The amount of scholarship shall be Rs.4000/- per month per student.

Administration Of The Scheme:

1. Corporate Welfare Group shall be the Nodal agency for administering the Scheme.
2. Students will be selected after they apply against a Press Advertisement/Notification in NTPC website, announcing the availability of NTPC scholarship.
3. Selection will be made on the basis of performance in the first professional examination(1st year study) in the medical college and any other criteria that may be decided by NTPC. The base cut-off score shall be kept at 60% for eligibility. Institutions which do not offer percentage of marks may be asked to furnish percentage equivalence.
4. The applications should be sponsored by the appropriate authority of the concerned Institution/College by a suitable endorsement on the application form. ( Forms enclosed) . Maximum of 5 applications each category may be forwarded by each Institution.
5. The application must be accompanied by a Caste Certificate issued by the prescribed Authority, in the form prescribed by the Govt. Format of the Certificate , alongwith a list of authorities empowered to issue SC/ST Certificate is attached. In case of Physically disabled students, the application must be accompanied by a disability certificate issued by an appropriate authority notified for this purpose, in the format prescribed.
6. It will be responsibility of the Institute to verify the Caste/Disability Certificate.
7. The NTPC Scholarship will be subject to the continuous satisfactory performance and good conduct during the course. Awardees of scholarship who fail to pass the semester and or/annual examination in the 1st attempt as the case may be, and on indulging in any activity amounting to misconduct as per the rules and regulations of Institution are liable to be disqualified from any further scholarship award for which an annual and semester wise report shall be forwarded by concerned institute.

Payment Of Scholarship:

Payment of NTPC Scholarship may be made to the awardee through the concerned authority of the Institution in a manner as decided by the NTPC Management.

Scholarship, for the previous period shall be paid to the selected candidates in one lump sum.

The amount shall be released after completion of each professional exam. However, amount for 3rd professional exam shall be released in 2 parts after completion of each part each year, till the completion of the course (four & half years) excluding Internship period.

General:

The decision of the Company with regard to award of scholarship, continuance and/or discontinuance as the case may be, shall be final and binding.

The candidates availed Scholarship from NTPC for the duration of the course will not entail upon NTPC any liability for his/her employment.

NTPC reserves the right to alter, modify or withdraw the scheme as considered necessary.

    I am not applied for scholarship in time because I have no knowledge about the scholarship.
    How to get or apply for scholarship or eligible or not?
