We are offering a number of GHCI 17 Student Scholarships for the conference in Bangalore to be held from November 16 to 17, 2017. GHCI Scholarships are awarded to deserving female graduates in the final year of their degree course, post-graduate and PhD students from computing, engineering and IT backgrounds.
The Scholarship gives the recipient the opportunity to attend the GHCI conference and includes the full conference registration fee and meals. For outstation students, who do not reside in Bangalore, travel (by train/bus/air) will be reimbursed up to a maximum of Rs. 2,250 and accommodation arrangements will also be made.
Scholarship recipients get access to GHCI’s Student Career Fair (for women students only), where bright and dynamic students can meet top recruiters from global technology companies. Students can explore internships as well as full-time job opportunities.
The GHCI 17 Student Scholarships are limited, so apply soon! Students that have received the GHCI Student Scholarship in past years, are not eligible to apply again this year.

What do GHCI Student Scholarships cover?
A full scholarship covers expenses associated with attending the GHCI conference, including the full registration fee and meals. Travel (by train/bus/air) will be reimbursed up to a maximum of Rs. 2,250 for outstation students that do not live in Bangalore.
The scholarship also includes accommodation arrangements for outstation students. Accommodation includes a shared hotel room with one other scholarship recipient for up to two nights (check in November 15, 2017 and check out November 17, 2017). We also award partial scholarships that cover some of these expenses.
How many scholarships were awarded last year?
220 full and partial scholarships were awarded during GHCI 16.
Are students from countries other than India allowed to apply?
No, GHCI 17 Scholarships are only for students studying in India.
How does the review process work?
The Scholarship Committee and Scholarship Reviewers consist of experienced professionals from the industry and academia. Each application is reviewed by at least two Scholarship Reviewers and the Scholarship Committee.
Reviewers provide their feedback on each application and the results are tallied and reviewed by the Student Scholarships Committee Chairs. Scholarships are awarded to the candidates with the highest scores, while maintaining a balanced representation from various institutions and backgrounds.
What criteria are used to award scholarships?
We use a variety of criteria and try to evaluate each candidate individually. We consider academic achievements, focus on specialization through internships, paper presentations, participation in contests and workshops, projects and other extra -curricular activities.
When is the last date to apply for scholarships?
Scholarship applications open on April 17, 2017 and close on June 30, 2017.
I applied for a GHCI Scholarship. When do I hear back?
We will announce the decisions on the GHCI Scholarships during August 2017.
Can I submit a poster and also apply for student scholarship?
Yes – both applications are different. If you want to apply for both, you have to complete the Poster submission form and GHCI Student Scholarship application separately.
If I am a GHCI 17 Poster author/presenter, do I directly get the Student Scholarship?
No. Those who want to avail the GHCI Student Scholarships must apply separately. GHCI 17 Poster authors/presenters do not directly get the Student Scholarship.
What special events should I attend at the conference?
We suggest that scholarship recipients must definitely plan to attend the following events (in addition to the other exciting sessions they select for themselves):
** The Student Career Fair, which will be held during the GHCI conference—be sure to stop by the sponsor booths to discuss career opportunities
** The keynote sessions at the conference
** Student focused sessions and those sessions where the content level has been specified as for Beginners
