DHTE Scholarships

Applications in prescribed format are invited from the students who are permanent residents in the state of Meghalaya studying within and outside the State for the year 2016-17.

Types of Scholarships

1. Pre Matric Scholarship:
Pre Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Caste students studying within the state of Meghalaya from class IX upto class X in Government schools/institutes or private schools/institutes recognized by appropriate authority of the State. Annual income of both Parents (except for single parent) for Scheduled Caste students should not exceed R. 2.00 Lakhs per annum.

2. Free Studentship Scholarship:
Free Studentship Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste students who are pursuing higher studies in different courses from class XI to Post-Graduation. Students who failed in the previous year and also those students who are not eligible to apply for Post Matric Scholarship for Schedule Tribe/Schedule Caste due to the fact that their parent’s income exceeds R2.50 Lakhs per annum are eligible to apply for this Scholarship.

3. Book Grant Scholarship :
Book Grant Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe students who are pursuing higher studies in different courses from class XI to Post-Graduation (excluding Engineering, Medical & Paramedical courses) and who secured marks 60% and above are eligible to apply for the Book Grant Scholarship.

4. Post Graduate Research Scholarship:
Post Graduate Research Scholarship for the students of Meghalaya (SC/ST and General) who are doing research courses under University or Research Institutions for M.Phil or Ph.D and whosecured marks 50% and above are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.

5. Merit Scholarship :
Merit Scholarship for Tribal and General Students: Applications are invited from the Scheduled Tribe and General Students of Meghalaya who secured very high percentage of marks in Class X, XII (MBOSE, AIICSE & CBSE) and Degree Examination 2016 for a specific number of Merit Scholarships.

6. Post Matric Scholarship :
Post Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Caste students who are pursuing higher studies in different courses from Class XI to Ph.D level. Annual income of both parents (except for single parent) for Scheduled Caste students should not exceed R250 lakhs per annum. The student may apply for this scholarship scheme for the year (2015-2016 & 2016-2017).

7. Border Area Scholarship:
Award of Border Area Scholarship are invited from students belonging to SC/ST in the state of Meghalaya pursuing Higher Post Matric Studies within and outside the State during the current year 2016-17.

Eligibility

Criteria for Border Area Scholarship
a) The student should be a permanent resident of Meghalaya in Border Area.
b) He/She belongs to SC/ST Community of the State of Meghalaya.
c) He/She is pursuing a regular Course of Studies in any recognized institution.
d) His/Her guardian/parent are Citizens of India. –
e) That He/She is not employed in any Service under the Government of any Non-Government establishment.
e) He/She is not a repeater in the same class for more than once.

Application Procedure

Students studying within the state are to collect the forms (Fresh and Renewal) from their respective institutions whereas Students studying outside the state may collect the forms from the Office of the undersigned, Room No. 206(A) from 30 Sept, 2016 onward.

The forms may also be downloaded from the website of Director Higher and Technical Education, Meghalaya. megeducation.gov.in. All the Principals submitting the application forms should submit along with the soft and hard copy in excel format.

Last Date

The last date of submission of application forms will be on or before th 30 November, 2016. No application form will be entertained after the last date.
